To achieve its objectives, the Research Institute plans to begin with its research in two major directions. The majority of European governments are facing the challenge to maintain comprehensive health systems under increasingly strong financial constraints. It is therefore important to address the issue of how medical technology is currently financed across Europe as well as who benefits from investment in medical technology. These two topics will be the key research topics of next three years. The first step involves compiling a literature review on both topics, which will present a complete overview upon which to build further original research.
